WHY CHOOSE ALTO?
The space in-between
At Alto we understand that climbing activity also happen in the spaces between the walls. Where people hang out, socialise and watch others climb.
We design gyms with great circulation, comfortable spaces and maximised customer capacity.

Smooth walls
Every climbing gym has panels of good climbing wall, but it’s how these panels come together that makes a good climbing wall great.
At Alto we design with shallow panel joins and well considered transitions between angles to maximise the versatility and usability of every section of climbing wall.
Building code compliant
All our designs:
-
Comply with EN12572 - European design code for climbing walls.
-
Take consideration of local fire escape regulations.
-
Aim to be fully accessible where possible.
Children areas are also designed in compliance to EN1176 - European design code for playgrounds.

We propose designs which:

Modernise the walls and the space between them.
-
Retain existing walls and/or structure where possible to reduce cost.
-
Try to rework popular characteristics of the old wall.
-
Consider phased development to reduce impact on customers.
Viability Studies
Assess Potential Sites
Choosing a site for a new gym can be the single most important business decision you will make. Our viability studies help inform that choice, and provide resources for planning applications & business proposals.
A study will include a 3D model with:
-
A rough layout of the gym including walls, reception and other facilities.
-
An indication of the climbing wall angles and an estimate of m2 of climbing surface.
